THE CENTER ANTI-VIOLENCE

The Women’s Anti-violence Center, managed by the association since February 2013, is recognized and funded by the Abruzzo region (Regional Law 31/2006). It is totally free for women, respectful of privacy and employs a fully female qualified team (reception workers, psychologists, lawyers, social workers, educators).

The Anti-violence Center operates according to the methodologies developed by the Centers in Italy belonging to the D.i.RE. network and it represents an “other place” where women victims of violence and ill-treatment, without ethnic, religious, political and sexual distinctions, can turn to tell their own experiences and receive a hearing; acquire awareness of their own qualities, skills and resources to develop defenses and solutions for themselves and for the children; trace, together with the operator, a path to overcome and exit violence, through a project that goes towards the achievement of personal autonomy, the reconstruction of self-esteem and self-confidence.
